he topic for one of the group assignments is “Universal Design for Learning (UDL)” while the topic for the other assignment is “Response to Intervention (RTI).” Accordingly, the names for the groups are UDL and RTI Groups 1, UDL and RTI Groups 2, … UDL and RtI Groups 6.
I opted to let Canvas assign students randomly to the groups. All groups, except one, are comprised of four students. There are three students in the other group.
The number of students in a group will not affect any student’s workload. In other words, the assignments will be configured so that each person in a group will be required to do the same amount of work regardless of the total number of students in the group.
For this first group assignment, “Meet Your Classmates Discussion,” complete #1-#3 below. Note that this assignment must be completed by 11:59 p.m. on Saturday, October 24.
Post a brief introduction of yourself in the “Meet Your Classmates” discussion.
Select a picture of an event or scene that represents something meaningful. Attach the picture and include a brief paragraph explaining your selection. This must be a picture of an event/scene, not simply pictures of family/friends, pets, or yourself. You can upload a picture you have taken or capture something from the internet. Google images has a lot of wonderful selections. Please do not post pictures of students from field experiences, tutoring, classrooms due to confidentiality policies.
Respond to your group mates.

student one My name is Kristen and I just moved to Boston, Massachusetts. This year has obviously thrown everyone for a loop. It’s important to learn and identify how we can cope and adapt to our new environment. I chose this photo of myself dancing on the docks of Boston because it represents how I do just that. I have competed in partner dancing (west coast swing) for over 4 years but due to the pandemic, dance events came to a halt. As of late, I have been able to dance with my partner outdoors while exploring the Boston area. Dance is not only a way to express myself but also a way for me to relieve stress and get some exercise. Moving to a new state wasn’t easy, and being in the middle of a pandemic isn’t either. I’ve found that continuing to dance in the safest way that I can has been very therapeutic as it allows me to reconnect to something familiar and comforting in the midst of unknown places and strange times.
My name is Anum Asim, I been working as an RBT for about 4 years now and I absolutely love it. I love seeing the progress in my clients, it is very rewarding. I am so excited to start my journey into ABA and becoming a BCBA.
On my free time, I love riding bikes at the beach. I been living in Florida pretty much my whole life and the beach has been a huge part in my life. My family and I love going to the beach almost every weekend to relax and spend time with each other. The sounds of the waves crashing on the shore is so relaxing to me and helps me cope with stress, it is very rejuvenating and refreshing to hear the sound of the ocean as well as watching the sunrise. I also love reading and studying by the ocean.
